Nashoba Brook Bakery Cafe Closed, Hopefully Temporary

Alas, yet another closing. This time it is Nashoba Brook Bakery’s cafe in the South End. Here is a note from the owners:

To Our Customers:

As you may have heard, Nashoba Brook Bakery closed our café in Boston. Our last day of operation was December 23rd.

We were very disappointed to leave our home away from home here on Columbus Avenue, but our landlord decided to reclaim this space for a different use. He no longer wanted a café in his residential building, in part because our growing popularity was putting a lot of stress on the space.

We tried to arrange a move into another space in one of the buildings being developed across the street, but we were unable to come to terms with the developers. But we will not give up. We would love to find a new home in Boston!

Email us at if you have any questions, comments, or ideas. We would love to hear from you.

Thank you all for your wonderful support, loyalty and positive feedback. We have enjoyed (almost) every minute!

With sincere appreciation;

John and Stu

PS. Nashoba Brook Bakery is otherwise doing really well. We are making more bread than ever and delivering to markets, restaurants, cafes, sandwich shops, caterers and others throughout the Greater Boston Area. Ask for us in your local grocery store, and come visit our café in Concord!

Keep updated at the main web site. Hopefully they will find another location with more seating soon! In the meantime you can get their wonderful, wonderful loaves of bread at local supermarkets from Stop & Shop to Roche Bros. Be prepared to pony up though – last time I looked a loaf of some varieties was as high as $6. Choose carefully!
