Fussy Eater Dessert Crawl Looking for Crawlers, Baked Goods NewsReel

And here you thought I was neglecting Fussy Eater by slaving away at this PhD journey that is slowly creeping towards completion. Or more accurately ABD status. I’m chugging away on that front slowly but surely (well wishes always appreciated) but I always make time for the sweet side of life. πŸ™‚

I wanted to tell you about a couple new and exciting Fussy Eater site features. The first is the Fussy Eater Dessert Crawl. On the right side of the page you will notice the Boston Dessert Crawl and the On-the-Road Dessert Crawl links to Dessert Crawl maps. Every bakery/restaurant/dessert sweet spot mentioned in Fussy Eater is on one of these two maps. Each sweet spot is also listed on each map so you can scroll through all of them. When you click on a sweet spot, such as Zaftigs, a window will pop up with the spot’s name, address, web site if available or phone number if no web site, and a link to any Fussy Eater posts that mentioned this spot. From here you can learn about each sweet spot, print out information, and let your stomach be your guide to checking out places. The On-the-Road Dessert Crawl is for sweet spots just outside Boston.

My hope is that these maps will help me achieve one of the goals I have for Fussy Eater which is to get folks out and exploring dessert sweet spots in and around Boston. We really are so lucky here to have so many to sample and discover! I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have. πŸ™‚

The other exciting feature is the Baked Goods News Reel, or what I am affectionately calling “All the News that’s Fit to Eat” (until I get some sort of cease and desist letter, that is). From here you can click on any of the terms, such as baked goods or bread, to see a sample of those items in today’s Google News headlines. It’s pretty cool to read the variety of stories that come up and is a nice calorie-free break. πŸ™‚

Food reviewing goes hi-tech! Love the new features. Could it one day be expanded beyond Boston via honorary Fuzzy Eaters? πŸ™‚
